The Mass Communication Department of Midwestern State University’s Lamar D. Fain College of Fine Arts celebrated the naming of its new journalism lab with a dedication ceremony Monday, Oct. 30. The lab honors alumnus Christopher T. Hunnewell, a 2001 MSU graduate.

The Christopher T. Hunnewell Journalism Lab is part of the $7 million Mass Communication Building that opened this fall with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. Featuring dedicated broadcast and digital media labs, edit bays, a full television studio and control room, an audio production room, and considerable space for student collaboration, the facility houses the student television operation, MNG Media, and the student newspaper, The Wichitan.
